My husband is an avid sportsman, a prepper and uses headlamps for work so I thought this would be perfect for him. When it came in, it seemed on the small side, compared to the headlamps he wears now. But let me just tell you that this sucker is bright! It is 100 lumen and will shine for 200 feet ahead of you. It's super light at 3.5 oz. and is very comfortable. It is adjustable so that both children and adults can both wear it comfortably.
The LED headlamp has four settings. There is a high beam, low beam an red light and a strobe feature. Another great feature is that it is water resistant. That really comes in handy while doing fix it jobs around the house or if you're having to change a tire in the dark on a rainy night. This would be an excellent product to put in emergency kit in your car.
One thing to keep in mind is you need two different types of batteries. The headlight itself takes AAA batteries (we always use rechargeables). The smaller light takes a round battery like a watch would. I think this headlamp would be perfect in so many emergency preparedness bags. Throw it in your backpack when hiking just in case you get caught after dark. Put it in your vehicle, your camping gear, your garage. The list goes on and on for places where you could possible take it.
