I have never ever tasted a whey protein supplement before but after reading all of the benefits, I thought "hey, why not?". I was more than pleasantly surprised. The first thing I have to say is that I got the Alpine Vanilla flavored whey protein (simply because I've tasted chocolate supplements before and they leave something to be desired) and it was the best tasting vanilla drink I think I've ever tasted. That is if you don't count melted ice cream. The taste was amazing and I felt very full afterward. By no means is this meant to be a replacement for food but I occasionally lose my appetite and thought this might be a great way to get one meal in as far as liquid form and then I would eat two food meals. It isn't meant to take like maybe Ensure is, but I did feel full and I felt as though I did have a energy after I drank it.
Like I said before, I have never had a whey protein so as dumb as it might sound, I had to call my husband and ask what I should mix it with. The direction said to mix it with my favorite beverage. It didn't look like it would go well with an energy drink lol. Anyway, I settled on milk and I'll say it again, it was great. I smelled it first and you it smelled similar to vitamins. It doesn't taste like it smells, I promise. Oh, you do need a shaker bottle for this one because you're supposed to shake it for 25-30 seconds.
Anyway, I was floored at all the good things about it. I have high cholesterol and it has less than 1% cholesterol. It is also fat free, lactose free, gluten free (so those allergic to gluten could take it, less than 1% carbohydrates, only 110 calories, 92% protein by weight, 25 grams of protein, no sugar (so my diabetic stepson could take this no problem), low sodium, no banned substances, no hidden ingredients, it's made in the USA and it's made in a FDA registered and inspected GMP facility. As far as I can tell, there are absolutely no bad things to say about this product. I really did love the 3 pack I received.
